SEEN AND NOT HEARD
2018
The title of these portraits is “Seen and not Heard”, to pay homage to the women who had a voice and opinions to share through art, but were silenced because they were women.
My intention in this assignment was to portray a female renaissance woman who, because of her gender, is constrained and forced to be the subject of a man’s work instead of her own.
In order to be seen in the art world, she has to be under the name, or arm of a man. I am very lucky to have been born in the time I was, when women can express and be taken seriously as artists.
When I can come up with an idea and be supported enough to watch that idea come to life.
In the final photographs, she is painting herself.
SEVEN DAILY SINS
2019

Seven Daily Sins is a photo series that comments on the fact that many of us do things that are considered "sins" every day. Whether that is lusting after someone, ignoring our homework, or indulging in a large amount of snacks. The music is "Over My Head" by the Alabama Shakes.
